Vada Rae (Isenburg) Watson, age 80, passed away at the Griffin Nursing Center of Knoxville on Thursday afternoon, November 21, 2013.
Vada was born in Green Valley, Illinois on August 27, 1933 the daughter of John and Jennie Marie (Schaller) Isenburg. She was raised in Pekin, Illinois.
She married Lenard Watson in 1970, but were later divorced and continued a lifelong friendship. Vada was a homemaker all her life and she was a health care provider for her three handicapped children. Her family and friends were very special to her and she loved them all dearly. She also enjoyed music, watching television, especially westerns and musicals, gardening and fishing, but what she cherished most and enjoyed were her family and dear friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kevin (Deborah) Isenburg of Delavan, IL, Gene Schaller of Knoxville, IA, Carolyn (Billy) Hill TN, Pam (Ray) Phelan of Pella, IA, Jerry Watson and Laura Watson both of Knoxville, IA. Seven grandchildren: Jamason (Angie) Isenburg, Christopher, Corissa, Kelsi & fiancée Scott, Bradley, Kayla and Brionna; and four great-grandchildren: Audrey, Jayden, Ethan Isenburg and Riley. Vada is also survived by her brother, George Isenburg of Pekin, Il; two nieces and two nephews
Cherished friends of the family and longtime health care assistant, Rhonda Hanna, Mildred Funk, Lois Voyles, and many “adopted” family members and acquaintances.
Vada was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Isenburg; her son, John Edgar Watson; one sister, Jean Elgin; former spouse and lifelong friend, Lenard Watson; dear friends, Mildred Sandrock and Helen Oliver; and sister-in-law and friend, Telsa Crouch.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday November 26, 2013 at the Winfield Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow services at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville. Vada’s family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or to the Batten Disease Support & Research Association. Online memorials and condolences may be sent to The Winfield Funeral Home is assisting Vada’s family with services.
