Kevin Lee Daugherty, age 49, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa of heart failure.
Kevin was born November 14, 1963 in Knoxville, Iowa to Dwight James and Lorraine Helen (Mosman) Daugherty. He was the youngest of his family. At age of nine Kevinís father past away and shortly after he was diagnosed with diabetes.
Kevin lived in Knoxville most his life. He graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1982. Kevin worked for Modern T.V. and later Video Mart with Carl Schwanebeck his future father-in-law. Kevin then worked in Des Moines for several years before returning to Knoxville to work at Radio Shack with owner and good friend Jo Goff.
On June 26, 1988 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Knoxville, Kevin and Caprice Andre Schwanebeck were united in marriage. Kevin and Caprice shared 25 years and three days of marriage and were blessed with three children.
Kevin is survived by his wife Caprice and three children: Madisen (23), Chambray (18) and Ashton Daugherty (14) all of Knoxville; Kevinís mother, Lorraine Daugherty of Knoxville; and three brothers: Bruce of Knoxville, Duane of Tustin, CA and James of Fort Madison, IA. Kevin is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth Schwanebeck; three brother-in-laws: Curt (Karen) of Knoxville, Cris (Patty) of Knoxville and Cort (Jim Wickesberg) Schwanebeck of St. Helena, CA; and one sister-in-law, Colette McRoberts of Knoxville.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Daugherty and his father-in-law, Carl Schwanebeck.
Kevin knew that he would not be able to donate his organs, do to his health issues, so he chose to donate his body to the University of Iowa for medical research.
A memorial service honoring Kevinís life will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Knoxville on Monday July 8th at 6:00 p.m. with Kevinís family present starting at 4:00 p.m.
