Louise Kay Johnson age 57 of rural Columbia passed away at her home in rural Columbia on Sunday, January 20, 2013.
Louise was born at home in rural Monroe County, Iowa on April 10, 1955, the daughter of Joe Marion and Nettie Lucille (Courtney) Keegel. She grew up around the Marion and Monroe County area and graduated from Twin Cedars High School, Class of 1973.
After high school Louise began working at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia, until 1977. In 1978 she began working for 3M of Knoxville. Louise worked with 3M for 34 years, retiring in 2012. She had also worked for a few years at Wal-Mart in Knoxville.
Louise enjoyed reading and crocheting. She especially loved her children and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons: Jack Johnson of Marysville, Chris Johnson of rural Columbia, Matt Johnson of Pleasantville and Scott Johnson and his wife Amanda of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren: Blake, Braydon, Robert, Ella, Jalin, Trenton, Chloe, Caleb, Kristin and Brynn. Louise is also survived by six sisters: Alice Greene, Ellen Pyle, Martha Hornick, Susie Prevo, Brenda Major and Sandra Keegel; two brothers: Jake and Joe Keegel; two aunts: Susie Schippers and Ruth Keegel; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; and one infant sister Deborah Ann Keegel.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville with Marty Williams officiating. Burial will follow services at Pringle Cemetery of rural Bussey.
Visitation for Louise will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23rd, at the Winfield Funeral Home, with Louise’s family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening.
A memorial has been established to Louise’s family. Condolences may be sent to www.winfieldfh.com. Arrangements are being handled by the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.
