Debbie Gebeke Scheibe

Debbie Gebeke Scheibe, 55, passed from her earthly life on Monday, April 28, 2008, following a valiant four year battle with multiple myeloma. She was at her home with her loving husband, Chuck and son, Wesley, by her side.

Deborah Kay Gebeke was born on September 11, 1952, in Fargo, ND. Debbie grew up in West Fargo, ND and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1971. Debbie started to work for DeLendrecies in her junior year of high school under the guidance of Mary Sinner, her mentor and good friend for the next 20 years before retiring in the summer of 1990. Debbie then moved from West Fargo to Dead Lake, MN, and that same summer married Charles Scheibe on July 7, 1990 at their beautiful lake home which they built together. They got to live on Dead Lake for one full year before Chuck was transferred by BNSF to Fort Worth, TX. Debbie soon followed Chuck where again they built a home on the lake in Granbury, TX. Debbie worked for Hood County News in Granbury for the past 15 years where she served as office manager.

Debbie was a great patriot who loved her country and the men and women who protect it. She led the Hood County News "Support Our Troops - Adopt One!" program and proudly displayed the stars and stripes wherever she was. She was also a passionate advocate of recycling and environmental protection to save our earth.

Debbie leaves behind her husband of 18 years, Charles "Chuck" Scheibe; sons, Wade Ellingson, West Fargo, ND, Wesley (Nicole) Ellingson, San Miguel, CA, Scott (Tina) Scheibe and Christopher (Cory) Scheibe, both Chicago, IL; grandsons, Thatcher Ellingson, West Fargo, and Christopher Scheibe Jr., Chicago; parents, DuWayne and Jean Gebeke, West Fargo; sisters, Peggy (John) Rutten, Mapleton, ND, RoxAnne (Greg) Mund, West Fargo and Denise Gebeke, Waite Park, MN; brothers, Rick Gebeke, Moorhead, IA, Brad (Jodi) Gebeke, West Fargo and Roger (DeAnn) Gebeke, Fort Worth; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and a host of friends and colleagues.
