Leo “Lee” Kohorst, age 22


January 29, 1988 – October 17, 2010

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Farming, MN for Leo “Lee” Kohorst, age 22, who died Sunday at his Minneapolis residence. Burial will be in the St. Catherine’s Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday morning in the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Farming. Arrangements were entrusted with the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.

Leo was born to Daniel and Barbara (Stang) Kohorst. He was a student at the University of Minnesota for Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Renewable Energy. Leo had a passion for music and was a talented singer/song writer/ instrumentalist. He brought joy to many people through his music. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Parish, Catholic Aid Association, and at the U of M he was involved in Innovative Engineers. His dream in life was to help promote sustainable communities in developing countries. Leo also enjoyed spending time with his family, snowmobiling, vacationing, fishing, camping, the outdoors, and foreign travel to Israel, Japan, and Jordan.

Survivors include his parents, Dan and Barb; siblings, Jamey and Sara (Deringer) Kohorst, Katherine Kohorst and Jason Draper, Todd and Valerie (Berquam) Kohorst, Kimberly Kohorst; grandparents, Manny and Alma Stang, Cecelia Kohorst; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Leo Kohorst.
