| | | Jeffrey J. Spicer, 71, of Linton, formerly of Spencer, passed away at 9:05 P.M. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at his residence.
Jeff was born, Dec. 30, 1940 in Greencastle, IN, to Jearl Eli William & Olive Carol (Franklin) Spicer.
He was a retired truck driver, and had formerly worked at the Owen County Sheriff’s Department. Jeff was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Member of Spencer Christian Church, and attended Faithway Bible Church, in Worthington. Life member of Spencer VFW #1405, former member of Spencer and Lyons American Legion.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Linda (Tucker) Spicer, Linton; children, Lindsey (Evan) Broshears, Bloomfield; Amber (Faran Lockenour) Spicer, Bloomfield; Steven Scott (Ann) Weaver, Mississippi; Kimberly Jones, Tennessee; Jeffrey Spicer, Jr., Missouri; step-daughter, Tara (Erik) Shonk, Spencer; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; ½ sister, Laura (Bill) Hoffman, Arizona; ½ brother, Pastor George (Sherry) Spicer, Arizona.
He was preceded by his father and step-mother, Jearl & Dorothy Spicer, mother and step-father, Olive & Coy Fulk, step-son, Paul Ryan White, 1 grandson and 1 step-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, 11:00 A. M., Tuesday, June 5, 2012, with Rev. Terry Dowell officiating.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett, 4:00 to 8:00 P. M. Monday and 9:00
A. M. Tuesday until time of service.
Burial will be in Worthington /cemetery.
