Mr West was my government teacher in 1971. I always loved his sence of humor. RIP Mr West. My condolences to his family. | From: Susie Pinkston 04/01/2010 08:39 AM

Mr. West was my government teacher and sponsor of my senior class at Martinsville High School in 1963-64. He was one of my favorite teachers. I always looked forward to his class. A few years later after I returned to Martinsville as a teacher, I was canoeing and put ashore in Freedom for some supplies. To my surprise, there was Mr. West, a very pleasant surprise. | From: Ken Addington 03/23/2010 08:29 AM

I have some fond memories of Mr. West. He was my Social Studies teacher and my coach in all sports. He was always a pleasant person and friendly when he taught at Coal City. Sorr for your loss. He will be missed.

Mr West was my Social Studies teacher at Martinsville in the late 60's. Always had a crack remark about something and got the point accross on US History. We used to call him "The Mayor of Freedom". My thoughts and rememberence go to the family during this time! | From: Keith Gray 03/21/2010 12:28 PM

Sending my sympathy to your family. Mr. West was a teacher at Coal City High School when I was a student there. His friendly personality and genuine caring for the students made our learning much easier. I remember him especially in study hall where he helped us study as well as allowed us to visit with our friends. He was a great teacher.
