Steven Wayne Baker, age 52, of Indianapolis, formerly of Linton, passed away on Wed. evening, April 19, 2006, at his residence in Indianapolis. He was born July 25, 1953, in Greenfield, the son of Richard & Joetta Faye (Bennett) Baker.
He worked in the music industry, singing for several years & touring throughout the United States. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his father, Richard Baker, of Linton, his wife, Helen (Corley) Baker of Indianapolis, two daughters, Starla Baker Criss of Lyons & Kimberly Baker of Springfield, IL, two sons, Shane Baker of Lyons & Richard Baker of Springfield, IL, a step-daughter, Shawn Borjas of Indianapolis, a brother, Mike Baker, of Linton, three sisters, Debra Coleman & Penny Berry, both of Linton, & Venus Hollifield of Sullivan, seven grandchildren, Sabra, Haley, Colton, & Alex Baker, & Dalton, Shelby, & Chantell Criss.
He was preceded by a sister, Brenda Ashburn, & his mother.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 P.M. Fri., April 21, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel. Friends may call at 4 P.M. Fri. until the hour of the service.
A committal service will be at 10 A.M. Sat. at Fairview Cemetery.
