Monty A. Brown, age 64 of Linton, died Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Martin County Health in Loogootee. He was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 16, 1945, the son of Taylor & Eunice (Beadle) Brown. He was a 1963 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School & served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1990 from the U.S. Postal Service & on Aug. 7, 2009 from R & R Trucking. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Washington.
He is survived by three children, Zachary S. & Trevor J. Brown, both of Odon, & An’ Drea L. (Matt) Eccles of Poland, their mother, Mary (Sheffler) Brown of Odon, a brother, Taylor H. Brown, II of Washington, and six grandchildren, Shayla, Haylen, Jacob, Dawson, Camden, & Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a half-brother, Danny B. Brown.
Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 31, Brothers Carl Beadle & Bill Joe Ansorge officiating. Military rites immediately following at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Linton at a later time.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family through the funeral home.
