Leon Baker, 52, of Coal City, passed away at 1:02 A. M. Thursday, July 16, 2009, Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was born February 24, 1957 in Linton to Wilson & Marie (Ley) Baker.
Leon was a farmer, carpenter and truck driver. He graduated from Clay City High School in 1975.
He is survived by two sisters, Janice “Jan” Newsom, Bloomington; Willa Jean “Bootsie” (Daryl) Osberg, Southlake, Texas; one brother, Terry (Camille) Baker, Rome, GA; 4 nieces, Cari Newsom, Lori Newsom, Amy Newsom, Jessica Osberg, 2 nephews, Jason & Justin Osberg; 3 great nieces Jade, Chloe and Ava, great nephew, Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, 11:00 A. M. Monday, July 20, 2009, with Matt Baker officiating.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday.
Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
