Robert Bruner

Robert Lee Bruner, age 80, died Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008, at his residence in Linton. He was born in Rushville on July 29, 1928, the son of Clyde S. & Mary A. (Mowery) Bruner.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the 765th Battalion during the Korean War. He was retired from Amax Coal Company, Minnehaha Mine, in Dugger. He attended the Bible Wesleyan Chapel (formerly the Community Bible Church) in Linton.

He is survived by his wife whom he married on Oct. 20, 1952, Mary E. (Carpenter) Bruner of Linton, five sons, Robert Irvin (Rita) Bruner of Sullivan, Melvin Lee (Rita) Bruner of Bloomfield, Michael Dale (Joleen) Bruner of Washington, Gary Dean (Leslie) Bruner of Lake Worth, Florida, and Daniel Eugene (Rhonda) Bruner of Wheatland, a brother, Vernon L. Mowery, three sisters, Bonnie E. Phillips, Doris J. Hasler, & Elsie Fay French, all of Linton, seven grandchildren, several step & great grandchildren, an aunt, Martha Uland of Bicknell, an uncle, Guy Mowery of Frankfort, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, & two sisters.

Funeral Service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 12, 2008, Rev. Richard D. Birden officiating. Burial will follow at Stafford Cemetery near Sandborn with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post #22.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday.
