Cory David Barnes, age 32, died at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at his residence in Linton. He was born in Linton on September 29, 1975, the son of David & Cheri (Gabbart) Barnes. He was a 1994 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He worked with his father at Barnes Maintenance Service in Linton. He enjoyed hunting & fishing.
He is survived by his mother & step-father, Cheri & Robert Lundy of Linton, his father & step-mother, David & Sandra Barnes of Linton, his fiancé, Victoria Axe of Linton, his children, Corianne & William Barnes, both at home in Linton, a brother, Shane (Tiffany) Barnes of Linton, his paternal grandparents, Kenneth & Geneva Barnes of Linton, three step-brothers, Jason & Jacob Lundy, & Ricky Weaver, two step-sisters, Courtney Lundy & Whitnea Weaver, two nephews, Austin & Zayden, one niece, Shayna, and nine step nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Claude & Betty Gabbart, & a cousin, Eric Bridges.
Funeral services will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 18, 2008, Rev. Doug Cassel officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M., and Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
