Sarah L. Bays, age 83, of Worthington, passed away at 7:35 A.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born May 21, 1925, in Greene County, the daughter of Garrett & Bessie (Fiscus) Hamilton.
She was a homemaker & formerly worked at Johnny’s Onion Ring Factory in Worthington & at Worthington-Jefferson School. She was a member of Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthington.
She is survived by four children, Becky (Bill) Daymude of Linton, Bill W. (Carol) Bays of Worthington, Ronnie Joe (Yolonda) Bays of Indianapolis, & Gary “Bird” Bays of Worthington, sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, & two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over sixty years, Loren F. Bays, Sept. 19, 2003, two brothers, John & Joe Hamilton, & two sisters, Pauline Steward & Gay Marie Jean.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sat., June 14, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Worthington Chapel, Reverend Doug Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.
