Betty L.Burke, age 75, of Linton, & formerly of Coalmont, went to be with the Lord at 10:43 A.M. Sat., Jan. 26, 2008, at the Linton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 23, 1932, in Coalmont, the daughter of Sylvester & Ina May (Royer) Gorby.
She was retired from Crane & was a homemaker.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Robert Burke of Linton, two daughters, Teresa Connor & her husband, Brian, of Terre Haute & Toni Smith & her husband, Val, of Linton, one son, Tim Burke & his wife, Connie, of Jasonville, a sister, Marilyn Burger of Terre Haute, five grandchildren, Shawn Allyn & her husband, Matt, of Georgetown, Brad Connor of Terre Haute, Kristi King & her husband, Jason, of Lyons, Michelle Burke of Jasonville, & David Burke & his wife, Kayla, of Jasonville, six great-grandchildren, A. J., Daniel, & Paige Adams of Georgetown, & Adrian Henico, Jace & Kolten King of Lyons, & several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Donella Grindle, & two half-sisters, Jewell Streaker & Mary Jane Lucas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Tues., Jan. 29, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, Pastor Larry Corns officiating. Burial will follow at K of P Cemetery in Hymera.
Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. Tues. until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family has suggested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation through the funeral home.
