Virgil Wallace Bryan, age 83, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at his residence in Globe, Arizona. He was born in Linton on August 19, 1924, the son of Virgil & Eliza (Dennis) Bryan. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a graduate of Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was an ordained minister. He retired from Arizona State University. He was an avid hunter & fisherman. He enjoyed attending all events that his grandchildren participated in.
Survivors include his daughter, Tana Moronez-Stevens of Queen Creek, Arizona, a step-son, William McKinney of Globe, Arizona, a brother, Thomas Bryan of Anderson, twelve grandchildren including John, Tony, Luke, & Tina Moronez, Tara Hancock, & Steven & Kristy Bryan, & 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by first wife, Dixie Bryan, second wife, Wilma Jean Bryan, a son, Rick W. Bryan, & grandson, Michael Moronez.
Graveside service will be held at Hickory Cemetery near Dugger at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2008, Bill McNew officiating.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
