Ruth Marie Baker, age 92, of Linton, passed away at 2:30 P.M. Sun., Sept. 9, 2007, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born Nov. 17, 1914, in Greene County, the daughter of Mary Watson-Timmons.
She owned & operated the Frosty Bar, which served soft ice cream in Linton, with her husband in the late 1950’s through the 1960’s. She was a homemaker & a lifetime member of Eastern Star in Linton.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Baker & his wife, Wilma, of Linton, Richard Baker & his wife, Mingon, of Plainfield, & Tom Baker & his wife, Carol, of Brownsburg, a daughter, Linda Greenwood of Dyarsburg, TN, ten grandchildren, Shane, Shawnda, Trish, Judy, Travis, Chris, Lisa, Lori, Lana, & Tim, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, & a nephew, Donnie Watson of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Baker, a brother, Jay Watson, a grandson, James Strickland, & her parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Thurs., Sept. 13, at Fairview Cemetery, Nick Moore officiating.
