Lucille P. Flowers, 89, formerly of Ranch Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Winslow Memorial Home. Mrs. Flowers, a native of Nash County, was the daughter of the late Callie Vernon Proctor and Annie Melissa Gupton Proctor and the widow o Lloyd Herman Flowers. She was retired from the Elizabeth City Board of Education as a cost clerk and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Mrs. Flowers is survived by a daughter, Becky Scott and husband Joe of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Howard Flowers and wife Clarice and Jimmy Flowers and wife Diane all of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Faye Womble of Rocky Mount, NC and Peggy Murray of Zebulon, NC; six grandchildren; and nine great grand- children.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Turner and the Rev. Bill Roberts officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Flowers, 115 Hunters Trail West, Elizabeth City, NC.
