Kermit Branscome Snead

Kermit Branscome Snead, 82, of 164 Worth Guard Road, Coinjock, NC died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at his residence. He was born on February 19, 1927 to the late Lewis Bailey and Florence Snead and was the husband of Jane Mayo Pritchard Snead of the home. Mr. Snead was self employed, a member of the Coinjock Baptist Church, charter and founding member of the American Legion Post #288. He served in the US Army and also in the US Marine Corp.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Alice Snead Ballance of Maple, NC and Nancy Denise Snead of Coinjock, NC; two brothers, Bryan Douglas Snead of Butte, MT and Lewis Pritchard Snead of Powells Point, NC; and one sister, Lorraine Ligon of Lynchburg, VA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Robert Snead, Brandon Ballance, Dalton Ballance and Sidney Snead.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Coinjock Baptist Church. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends at their residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
