Alan Edgar Boos, age 30, of Decker Drive, Miamisburg, Ohio, died at 9:14 P.M., Tuesday, September 7, 2004 in the Sycamore Hospital Emergency Room , Miamisburg, after collapsing from an apparent blood clot. He was born on February 1, 1974 to Gary and Susan (Cross) Boos. They survive in Tiffin, Ohio. On June 29, 1996, in First Lutheran Church, Tiffin, he married Jennifer Goshe. She survives in Miamisburg.

Other survivors include, 1 sister, Nichole (Kevin) Alexander, of Troy, Ohio; a step grandmother, Violet Husrt-Boos of Fremont, Ohio; parents-in-law, Gene and Sharon Goshe of Tiffin, 3 sisters-in-law, Lisa, Julie and Christie Goshe, and 2 dogs, Zipp and Mavic. He is preceded by his grandparents, Harold and Jane Boos, and Ed and Kathryn Cross.

Mr. Boos was a 1992 Columbian High School graduate, he had attended Malone College in Canton for 3 years, and then attended Bowling Green State University for 1 year. He was an account manager for Pepsi Americas Co. in Dayton, Ohio. He was a member of the Health and Fitness Promotions Racing Club, and avid triathlete, was on the State Triathlon Champion for 5 years, the 1989 State Cross Country Champion, All-American Cross Country Runner at Malone College, was the State Runner-up in Track at Columbian High School twice, and he will be inducted into the Columbian High School Hall of Fame on September 25, 2004.

Funeral Services will be on the grounds of the St. Francis Earth Literacy Center, Tiffin with the Rev. Robert Quillen officiating. Following the services, Alan will be cremated and then buried in Hawaii during the Ironman Competition.

Memorial Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers, to the Alan Boos Memorial Scholarship Fund, Lance Armstrong Foundation, or to St. Francis Earth Literacy Center in care of Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
