| | | Mabel E. Barrett, age 85, of Tiffin, Ohio, died May 5, 2002. She was born in Eden Twp., Seneca County, Ohio, on February 20, 1917, to Clyde E. and Ilo W. (Culver) Barnes. On October 23, 1948, in Mt. Carmel, Ohio, she married Harvey L. Barrett. He died October 8, 1991. She is survived by a son, Donald W. Barrett and girlfriend Diana Monaco and family, of Tiffin, 3 brothers, Paul, Clyde, & Vern Barnes, and a sister, Mary Swerline. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kenneth & Earl Barnes, and 3 sisters, Ethel Price, Helen Evans, & Doris Wagner. Mrs. Barrett was a practical nurse, and had worked for Dr. Piersol, DDS. She had also been supervisor for the Junior Home Hospital for 8 months before it closed. She was an accomplished seamstress and a loving mother. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and its Ruth Circle. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, or to St. Francis Home. The family would like to thank all the associates and doctors at St. Francis Home for all the loving care bestowed upon Mrs. Barrett these past few years.
