| | | Donna L. Boes, age 80, of Tiffin, Ohio, died January 24, 2004, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born February 14, 1923, in Orient, Ohio, to the late Charles and Rebecca (Layton) Reed. On June 26, 1943, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Alvern N. Boes, Sr., and he survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Alvern “Toad” (Fay) Boes, Jr., Albert “Skeet” (Terri) Boes, and Charles “Chip” (Cheri) Boes; 2 daughters, Becky (John) Lay, and Roberta “Bobbi” (Dave) Wilson; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Whitney Reed. Mrs. Boes was a 1943 graduate of Republic High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, its Rosary Altar Society, Mercy Hospital Volunteers, and the Daughters of Isabella. She loved cooking, baking, volunteering, and pleasing her children and grandchildren. She also loved gardening in her rose garden.
Rev. James Say and Rev. Richard Dunn will concelebrate the Funeral Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, Calvert Foundation, Mercy Hospital, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
