Paul Ardner, age 74 of Melmore Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 7:45 pm Friday, March 6, 2009 at his home with family. He was born on August 10, 1934 in Fostoria to the late Nicholas and Cecelia (Temple) Ardner. On April 16, 1955 in St. Wendelin Catholic church he married Phyllis Heckman and she survives.

Survivors include a son, Bryan (Jeanne) Ardner of Tiffin and a daughter, Jill (David, Jr.) Brese of Durham, NC; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Fiancé, Ashley Joliat) Ardner, Drew Ardner, Kevin Brese, Aaron Ardner, Bryan Brese, and Alex Brese; a brother, Robert (Joanne) Ardner of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Viola (Howard –deceased) Stultz of Tiffin, and Ruth Hunt of Wapakoneta,OH.

Mr. Ardner is preceded in death by an infant brother, John Ardner, two sisters, Catherine (Forest) Slater, Rita (K) Speelman and a Brother-In-Law, Fred Hunt.

Paul was a 1952 St. Wendelin High School graduate. He was also a graduate of Tiffin University. He had served in the United States Navy from 1957 - 1959. Paul worked for Webster Manufacturing for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Paul enjoyed working around the home, traveling and spending time in North Carolina. He loved spending time with his family, especially all of his grandchildren.

Family and Friends may visit with the family from 2-8 pm Monday, March 9, 2009 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A Wake service will be at 1:45 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am Tuesday, March 10, 2009, following with the funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Szybka will officiate. The Rosary will be recited at the church 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Jacob’s Cemetery in Republic. The United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County will perform a military service at the gravesite.

Contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or to the Kidney Foundation in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
