Pre-planning Information:

A generation ago, very few people prearranged a funeral. When someone did make funeral prearrangements, it was usually because someone in the family had received very bad news from their doctor, or due to the fact that the person making their prearrangements had no living relative to make the arrangements at the time of death.

Today, most people prearrange their funeral to help give their family guidance - to help and protect their loved ones. They understand the difficulty of making decisions during such an emotional time.

With the high cost of raising a family and with the even higher cost of health care prior to a death, today's families don't want their funeral arrangements to become a burden on their children and their children's families.

At Tobias Funeral Home, you will meet with a counselor who specializes in handling funeral prearrangements. They have experience helping guide families in making choices. They make themselves available to answer your questions in the convenience of your home, or, if you prefer, at one of our funeral homes. They are happy to meet you at a time that is convenient - including evenings and weekends.

Next, if you decide to, we will prepare a file to be kept at the funeral home. All the paperwork will be available should it be needed. We provide this to the residents of the communities we serve as part of our service free of any charge.
Understandably, many people have questions about prearrangements. We will be glad to answer these and any other questions you have when we meet:

-Why should I speak with a Licensed Funeral Director or Counselor and not just have information sent to me?

-Are making funeral prearrangements something I can do before I retire?

-Can I have a funeral service in my church and then be cremated?

-We spend part of the year in another community. What should we do if one of us dies there?

-Is having everything done during one day really better for the family?

-I have always heard, "You should get a good vault." What is a good vault?

-I am afraid to ask about funeral prearrangements because I feel I may be required to pay at that time. Do I have to pay?

-If I pre-pay my funeral can't the nursing home take my money?

-I only have a small amount of money available each month, but I want to keep the cost down for my children. Is there something you can do to fit the money I have available?

-Does using my insurance "lock-in" the price of the funeral?

-How can I get a guarantee for costs associated with my funeral?

Perhaps sometimes later, you may decide to ask about funding options. Please feel free to submit our information form or call us for further details at any one of our five convenient locations:
