| | | Jack Richard Bissinger (age 76) of Kettering, Ohio passed from this life on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. Jack was the eldest of identical twin sons born on December 5, 1932 to Sherwood and Marjorie (Willman) Bissinger in Seaman, Ohio. He was united in marriage to high school sweetheart and loving wife, Imogene DeMint on July 26, 1952 and to this union was born two daughters, Jill Bissinger and Joy Mallett. Jack is also survived by four grandchildren Jenni Grushon, Jamie Grushon, Sara Mallett and Ben Mallett, 2 step-grandchildren Carey Lunne and Marc Maeder, 2 son in-laws Jeff Mallett and Bill Strady, twin brother Gene Bissinger and wife Marilyn, step-sister Jean Kirker and husband Charles, brother in-laws John DeMint, Frank DeMint and Bob DeMint, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Roky Bissinger, mother in-law Ora DeMint, father in-law Gilbert DeMint, brother in-laws Bill DeMint and Jim DeMint, and sister in-laws Myrle Carroll and Barb Morris. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a carpenter at NCR Corporation for over 25 years, in addition to being owner of Jack Bissinger Construction. He was a Past Master of Alpha Lodge #729 F & AM in 1976, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, member of the Bobbie Unit of Antioch Shrine, and member of Shrine Past Masters for many years. Serving as usher for several years, Jack was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1960. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, April 20 at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue; Masonic services at 7:30. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday, April 21 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at David’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or Hospice of Dayton in his memory. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
