SHEARD, Donald E., 82 of Englewood, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents William E. & Viola M. (nee Smallwood) Sheard, his sister & brother-in-law Dorothy & Ray Fincel. Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Una M. (nee Spangler) Sheard, one daughter Cathy M. & Bruce A. Spriggs of Dayton, one son, Steven E. & Lisa V. Sheard of FL., four grandchildren Aaron & his wife Sarah Spriggs, Brittany Spriggs, Christopher Sheard & Jenna Sheard, two nieces Beverly & Paul Shirley, Debbie & John Hettinger, two cousins, Bernice Whitman, Harriet Dames, special friend Don Stockslager. Donald had worked at NCR for 29 years and then retired from Inland after 11 years, he was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church, Dayton Masonic Lodge #147, F. & A. M., Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, and was a WW II US Naval Veteran. His funeral tribute will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road with Pastor George Sidwell presiding, entombment will follow in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. Donald’s family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be Masonic Lodge services at 6:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions if desired may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children – Cincinnati, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229 – 3095, 513-872-6118.
