KALLAS, Diana Rose (Day), age 67 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton after a brief and sudden illness. Diana was born on August 16, 1941 in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Ruth M. (Powers) and Louis L. Day. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Chad Perkins. Diana is survived by her 4 children, John Kallas (Michelle), Colleen Dawson (Greg), Sheila Kallas (Rosie Rupert), and Jim Wallace (Kerri); 7 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Carole Ann Disher and Kathleen Perkins. Diana was a graduate of Oakwood High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech & Hearing Therapy from Marquette University and a Master’s Degree from Wright State University in Early Childhood Education. Diana’s kindness to whomever she crossed paths with and love for family especially for her grandchildren, is what defined her. She loved all animals, and was known to carry treats in her pocket to keep her friend’s and family’s pets well fed. We will all miss Diana’s home delivery of Bill’s Donuts. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. In memory of Diana, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or SICSA.
