ALBERS, Leonard H., age 79, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 at his residence. Leonard was born on May 21st, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio to John H. and Rosella (Fischer) Albers. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Clara. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Genevieve (Zwolski); their children – Dave and his wife Cheryl; Janet and close friend Pam Strait; Michael and his wife Marcia; Karen and her husband Barry Baldwin; and Julie and her husband Jason Eggleston. Also survived by their ten precious grandchildren – David and Andrea Albers; Evan, Olivia, and Ethan Albers; Alek, Ashley, and Abbey Baldwin; and Jaxon and Jenna Eggleston. Other surviving relatives include his brothers – Edward and wife Geraldine; and Howard Albers; along with numerous other family and close friends. Leonard and his brother Ed were in business together for over fifty years as Albers Brothers Construction, continuing in their father’s footsteps and known for their fine craftsmanship and remodeling of numerous homes in the Oakwood, Kettering, and south Dayton area. He enjoyed fishing, German music, and most of all spending time with his loving family. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 23rd, 2006 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Prayers 9:45 a.m. Saturday, June 24th, 2006 at the funeral home with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville – Father Thomas Schmidt officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. The family would like to thank Drs. Rubio and Fleagle, as well as the kind staff at Kettering Memorial Hospital 5 South and Hospice of Dayton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton and/or St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He will be forever missed.
