Staatsburg - Irene C. Borquist, 75, a longtime Staatsburg and Hyde Park resident, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at home.
Before raising a family, Irene worked in banking; first at the former Falkill National Bank in Poughkeepsie, and then the former First Federal Savings and Loan, Hyde Park Branch.
Mrs. Borquist was a life-member of the Hyde Park Historical Society.
Born in Poughkeepsie on July 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Filoia Ochoa. She was a 1952 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School.
On January 25, 1958 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie, she married Donald E. Borquist. Mr. Borquist survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Darren E. Borquist of Paradise, AZ; three grandchildren, Kristofer, Jarrod, and Kaylea Borquist; two sisters, Josephine Hues of Boise, ID, and Rita Keefer of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; two sisters-in-law, Peg Craft and husband, Don, and Joan Burnett and husband, Bob, all of New Bern, NC; brother-in-law, Bob Borquist and wife, Brenda, of Staatsburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
