| | | Hyde Park - Mary Joan Haug, 87, a lifelong Hyde Park resident, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Mary was a waitress for many years at the former Hyde Park Diner, which was owned by her brother, Philip Andros and his wife, Oleta; and more recently at Coppola's Restaurant in Hyde Park, where she worked for twenty years; retiring in 2000.
She was a communicant of Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park.
Born in Hyde Park on August 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Corcione Andros.
On April 13, 1941 in Regina Coeli Church, she married Elmond Haug. He predeceased her on October 31, 1980.
Survivors include her great grandchildren, JT Matyas, Samantha Sadowski, Wyatt Matyas, and Mary Sadowski, and their parents, Lisa Sadowski, DJ Sadowski, Sharon Matyas, and Sara Sadowski, all of Hyde Park; two daughters, Donna Sadowski of Hyde Park, and Susan Serafinowicz of Phoenix, AZ; son, Thomas Haug of Hyde Park; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Trojan and Elizabeth McMeekin; and two brothers, Frank and Philip Andros.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Thursday, June 18th at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
