HYDE PARK- Pamela J. Herzfeld, 39, a longtime area resident, as per her children, she went to heaven on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 during her last days at Vassar Bros. Medical Center after a battle with Leukemia.
Born in Poughkeepsie on June 19, 1969, she was the daughter of the late James E. Bohlinger, Sr. and Carol J. Randolph Bohlinger. She was a graduate of John Jay High School.
On August 15, 2000 in Hyde Park, she married Bernard A. Herzfeld Jr. Mr. Herzfeld survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Dana Buckley, Jamie Herzfeld, Emily Herzfeld and Bernard Herzfeld III, all at home; a brother, James Bohlinger Jr. and wife, Kelly of Hyde Park; sisters-in-law, Loretta Bougades and husband, Manny of Clinton Hollow; Lena Merritt and husband, Alvin of Amenia; Liz McPhee and life long companion, Alan Halstead of Hyde Park; Lynn Sullivan-Callahan and husband, Brian Callahan of Poughkeepsie; nephews, Ted Bohlinger of Hyde Park, Manny Bougades of Clinton Hollow, Joseph S. McPhee II of Hyde Park, Ryan Sullivan of Poughkeepsie; nieces, Karly Bohlinger of Hyde Park, Amanda Bougades of Clinton Hollow, Jennifer McPhee of Hyde Park, Natasha and Nicole Merritt of Poughkeepsie, Brittany and Marki-Lynn Sullivan of Poughkeepsie and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pam was a homemaker and a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post #170 in Poughkeepsie.
Before her illness, she was active in Hyde Park Girl Scout Troop 99 and Troop 96, with her daughters Dana, Jamie and Emily.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 pm, Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
A funeral service will follow at 3 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Silvieus officiating from the Clinton Corners Evangelical Free Church.
Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
