| | | | Poughkeepsie - Ray Corrado, 68, a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Hyde Park Nursing Home.
Before becoming too sick to work, Mr. Corrado was a laborer doing terrazzo work with his father, the former Union Local # 44 in Poughkeepsie, and also for the late Charles Fitzgerald of the Fitzgerald Tile Company. He was proud to have donated his time along with his father to install the terrazzo floor in Regina Coeli Church, Hyde Park.
In his younger years, Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.
He was a communicant of Regina Coeli Church.
Born in Poughkeepsie on April 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Frank V. and Gemma Moro Corrado. He attended F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.
He is survived by two brothers, Frederick Corrado of Hyde Park, and Richard Corrado of Poughquag; two sisters, Mary Lou Murphy of Cape Coral, FL, and Mary Ann Moseley of Anchorage, AK; several nieces and nephews; and cousins, Walter Corrado, Irene Hunt, and Sylvania Bertolozzi, all of Poughkeepsie, Daniel Corrado of Hopewell Junction, and Ronald Corrado of Hyde Park.
There are no calling hours.
Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Burial of his ashes will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
