Salt Point - Evelyn Julia Sadler, 91, a resident of Salt Point and formerly of Ocala, FL and Wappingers Falls, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
She worked at Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corp. in Poughkeepsie for many years until her retirement.
Known for her outgoing and friendly personality, she enjoyed music and dancing. She also liked to read and do puzzles.
Born in Brooklyn on March 24, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ethel Walker Bierman.
On October 14, 1939 in Brooklyn, she married William Sadler. He predeceased her in 2000.
Survivors include her son, Donald Sadler and wife, Sharon, of Ellicott City, MD; daughter, Janet Czech and husband, Richard, of Salt Point; three grandchildren, Eric Czech and wife, Alison, of LaGrangeville, Kirsten Matthiesen and husband, Todd, of Marriottsville, MD, and Michael Sadler and wife, Margie, of Baltimore, MD; four great grandchildren, James and William Czech, and Tyler and Riley Matthiesen; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Fred Bierman, and a granddaughter, Jackie Czech.
There are no calling hours.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place at the convenience of the family and she will be laid to rest with her husband, Bill.
