| | | Poughkeepsie - Reita G. Fiorino, 84, a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. She was a resident of River Valley Care Center for the past three years.
Mrs. Fiorino worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie from 1956 until her retirement in 1987.
Reita enjoyed singing, and sang in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Choir for thirty-three years. She also sang with the former Lyric Club.
She and her husband, Tommy, were regulars at the former Denny’s Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, and she was a member of the New Beginnings Church.
Born in Poughkeepsie on February 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Loretta Baird.
On December 14, 1974 in the Hyde Park Reformed Church, she married Tommy Fiorino. He survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four step-children, Tommy F. Fiorino and wife, Amy, of Westwood, Mass., David Fiorino of Manhattan, Timothy Fiorino of Boston, Mass., and Cynthia Fiorino of Copiague, NY; and four grandchildren, Allison, Nicole, and Kayley Fiorino, all of Westwood, and Giana Fiorino of Copiague.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 pm, Sunday, March 22, 2009 at New Beginnings Church, 35 DeGarmo Rd., Poughkeepsie.
Graveside services and burial will be at 12 noon, Monday, March 23rd in the Lawn Crypt Garden at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Rev. Michael Gerhardt will be officiating.
