Hyde Park - June A. Losee, 65, a longtime Hyde Park resident previously of Oxford, NY, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
She was a school bus driver for the Hyde Park Central School District for over 25 years until her retirement. As a bus driver, she loved all her "kids."
June was an animal lover, especially horses. She also loved gardening and tending to her Rose of Sharon bushes.
She was devoted to her friends and family and had a great sense of humor.
June was a member of the Hyde Park United Methodist Church.
Born in Schenectady on May 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Vera Stacy Kinney.
On July 13, 1963 in the Hyde Park United Methodist Church, she married William F. Losee. He predeceased her on December 26, 2007.
Survivors include her son, Ralph Losee of Hyde Park; daughter, Arlene Curley of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Michael Losee, Dillon Losee, John Curley, Kalynn Losee, and David Curley; a sister, Mary Cardarelli of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews, especially Laura Cardarelli-Harrand of Poughkeepsie.
In keeping with June's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial calling hours will be from 2 to 4 Pm, Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Her ashes will be buried in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2678 South Rd., Suite 102, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
