| | Question: I've already made funeral pre-arrangements with another firm. Is it pretty complicated to transfer my plan to Stockham Family Funeral Home?
Answer: No, it's not complicated at all to transfer your plan. A phone call to our office is all it takes to begin this simple transfer procedure. In many cases you may receive a refund because our fees are generally lower than most other firms in the area.
Question: How much a does a funeral cost?
Answer: That is a really good question and one that gets asked a lot. I'll start out by saying that a recent N.F.D.A. survey estimated the national average funeral cost to be somewhere around $5,500.00. This figure did not include cemetery expenses and some cash advance items such as minister and musician honorariums. Since funeral services vary so much, it's difficult to arrive at a typical cost. We do know that most people believe funeral costs are much higher than they actually are. Your personal requirements and preferences might make the cost higher or lower than average. For specific prices, refer to our price list under the pre-planning section of this web-site. If you would like a brochure on funeral costs or a copy of our complete General Price List, click on the "Contact Us" button at the top of this page.
Question: When I die, do I have to be embalmed?
Answer: No, Kansas law requires that you must either be buried, embalmed, or cremated within twenty-four hours of death. Give us a call to discuss any of these options.
Question: What about a monument or grave marker?
Answer: Stockham Family Funeral Home has a full line of monuments and markers available at costs generally less than cemeteries or other monument companies. Check out our monument page by clicking on the "Products" button at left, and then by clicking the "Monuments" link at the top of that page.
