| | | Elsie Lundstrom, 98, formerly of 112 Marion Street in Boone passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, May 2, 2011 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone where she had lived for nearly eleven years.
She was born on October 16, 1912, in Hamilton County, Iowa the daughter of Chris and Katie (Moeller) Lutjen. Elsie attended St. Paul’s Lutheran school and was confirmed on May 16, 1926.
On June 29, 1941, she was married to William Lundstrom at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
In earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and quilting at Church and with a group at the Boone County Court House. She sang in the Church choir and was involved in other Church activities. Elsie was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.
Her parents; husband William in December of 1984; and a sister Irene Grabau-Schwieger in April of 2011 preceded her in death.
Survivors include her brother LaVerne Lutjen and wife Lorraine of Boone; sister-in-law Ruth Carlson of Boone; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Thursday morning, May 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone with Pastor Lindsay Watkins officiating.
Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Friends may call at the Church prior to the service on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service with the family present during that time to greet friends.
Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
