I did the computer work for Dave when he started The Reminders Company and for the next few years, until I moved to Florida, and now to Chicago. When he was made a Kentucky Colonel he insisted I be made one too. He was a clever and innovative guy, and over the years I often thought of looking him up again, so I did just now and discovered I am months too late. Farewell friend, we'll catch up with each other in heaven. | From: Stan Zegel 08/06/2011 09:55 PM

A true hero has left for greener pastures. He will be missed by all those that have learned that the 62nd family will live long beyond Dave Mondt, but most importantly solely because of him! My command of the 62nd will always be remembered because of the Mondt family and their belief in the traditions that must be passed from generation to generation. God Bless.

If you could please pass this along to the family, I would be most appreciative.
I did not know Mr. Mondt, but I think he may have served with my father in North Africa in the 62nd Troop Carrier Group. Just yesterday I was researching the 62nd, and found Mr. Mondt's name and found he is recently deceased. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, and feel I have lost a possible connection to my father, who died in 1953 when I was two. If you would like to contact me at some point, I would be happy to hear from you. | From: Erin Rainwater 06/23/2011 11:45 AM

Connie and your lovely sisters and mother.
I remember your Dad so well. When I was small he was our milkman and my brother and I would run to meet him at the door.
Then I met him again later when I met Connie in 7th grade and spent time in the family home. What a fun household with all the girls and Mother and Dave as Father. I send wishes of comfort and fond memories and Love.
