| Ivan D. Andersen, 71, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away at
the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday morning, January 13, 2007. He was born on September 25, 1935, in Scranton, Iowa, the son of Lehmann and Clara (Andersen) Andersen. In 1949, Ivan and his family moved to the Stratford area. Ivan attended the Stratford schools. He was confirmed in the Stratford Lutheran Church where he was a member. On November 20, 1960, he married Doris Anderson at the Swede Bend Mission Covenant Church in Stratford, Iowa. For over 60 years, Ivan was engaged in farming. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Throughout the years, Ivan had served on the Board of Directors for the Stratford Telephone Company, Stratford Co-Op Elevator and the Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife Doris of Stratford, 1 son John (Donna) Andersen of Stratford, Iowa, 3 grandchildren Michael, Steven, and Alexis Andersen, 4 step-grandchildren Grant, Chelsea, Christian, and Rylie Reischauer, 1 sister Betty (Phil) Ford of Boone, Iowa, a nephew Jeff (Lori) Ford of Norwalk, Iowa, a niece Jeanette (Jayson) Swope of Omaha, Nebraska, and numerous cousins. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter, Janet, and his son, Gary. Services will be held on Wednesday morning, January 17th, at 10:00 a.m., at the Lutheran Church in Stratford, Iowa with Pastor Joe Lambert officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford, Iowa. Friends may call at the Lutheran Church in Stratford on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.
