| | | Beryl Wisecup, 76, formerly of 125 W. 7th Street, Boone, Iowa passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa on Thursday afternoon, November 2, 2006. She had been a resident at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone since October of 2004.
She was born in a log cabin in Boone County on January 9, 1930, the daughter of Fred and Clara (Ellsbury) Tilley.
On August 16, 1950 she married Clifford G. Wisecup at Nashua, Iowa.
Beryl attended country schools until the age of 10 when she started school in Boone. She was a graduate of Boone High School and following graduation attended business school. She was a homemaker.
Beryl was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she held many positions including Sunday school teacher, secretary, president, music chairman, choir member, choir director, and district missionary. Beryl loved to research Genealogy and assisted the state genealogy library in Ames. She enjoyed sports, camping, fishing, watching baseball and basketball, playing games, gardening, flowers, music, and dancing.
Her parents, husband, Clifford, in June of 1984, 1 son, Kenneth Wisecup, in January of 2004, and 1 brother, Earl Tilley in February of 1994 preceded her in death.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Colleen (Mike) Farley of Boone, IA, Millie (Bob, Jr.) Abbott of Ogden, IA, 2 granddaughters, Kerry Farley of Ankeny, IA, Michelle Farley of Sheldon, IA and 1 grandson, Sean Farley of Ames, IA, an aunt and uncle, Bob and Alice Tilley of Boone, IA, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday morning, November 6th at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Boone with Bishop Peterson officiating.
Interment will be in Mineral Ridge Cemetery north of Boone, Iowa.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and Sunday evening, 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Monday morning at the Church from 8:30 A.M. until the time of service.
The family will be present at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Sunday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. to greet friends.
