| Betty Jean Musser, 79, formerly of 123 10th Street in Boone passed away at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone on Friday morning, August 11, 2006. She had been a resident at the Evangelical Free Church Home since March of 1998.
She was born on June 16, 1927 in Boone, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Tina (Miller)Staley. On December 13, 1943, she married Ernest R. Musser at Boone, Iowa. Betty worked at Ruth’s Nursing Home and in 1977 began working at the Eastern Star Home in the Housekeeping Department until her retirement in 1996. She enjoyed gardening, collecting turtle items and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Central Christian Church and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. Her parents, husband Ernie in December of 1983, a daughter Mary Ann Musser, a son Ronnie Musser, a son-in-law Tom Hilsabeck, 2 grandsons Troy and Jason Hilsabeck, 1 great-granddaughter Bailey Musser, 4 sisters and 3 brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter Margaret Hilsabeck of Boone; 6 sons Dale (Debbie) Musser, John (Sherri) Musser, Roger (Lori) Musser and Ernest, Jr. all of Boone; Ralph (Patty) Musser and Gary (Linda) all of Ogden, IA, 30 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday morning, August 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with Rev. Paul Fraser officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family will be present at the Stark-Welin Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. to greet friends. Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone is in charge of arrangements. | ||
