| Ruth E. Christensen, 78, of Boone, went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, November 18, 2006
Ruth was born on October 14, 1930, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Helen (Stunepfhaus) Kehm. She attended school and graduated from Ft. Dodge High School. On March 8, 1949, she married John "Red" Christensen at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ft. Dodge, Iowa while John was serving in the Air Force. Together they raised two sons, David and Mark. Ruth was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, reading, shopping and traveling with her husband and lifelong friend Jan Kennedy. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #817. Her parents, one sister Lucia Jerde and an infant brother, Henry Kehm preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband John "Red" Christensen of Boone; two sons David Christensen and his wife Dianna and Mark Christensen all of Boone; two grandchildren Eric D. Christensen and his wife April of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Mark J. Christensen of Boone; three great-grandchildren Cael John Christensen, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Kristopher and Phillip Murphy both of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; one sister Helen Andersen of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; one brother Richard Kehm of Phoenix, Arizona; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Monday morning, November 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the Boone Biblical Memorial Church, 921 West 2nd Street, Boone, Iowa with Pastor Bruce Thomas presiding. Interment will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their memorial to the family. | ||
