| Kathy Jean Batt, 48, formerly of Boone, Iowa, currently of Ankeny, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday morning, October 27, 2007.
She was born on August 12, 1959 in Boone, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Arla Jean (Carlson) Miller. On August 14, 1982, she married Danny Batt at the First United Methodist Church in Boone, Iowa. Kathy was a 1978 graduate of Boone High School. Before her illness, she served as an Executive Assistant at Kimberley Development in Ankeny, Iowa. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her mother, Jean in July of 1991 and her grandparents preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband Danny of Ankeny; 2 daughters Erica Batt of Des Moines, Iowa and Holly Batt of Ames, Iowa; 1 son Derek Batt of Ankeny, Iowa; 1 grandson Hayden Batt of Ames, Iowa; her father Fred Miller of Boone, Iowa; 3 sisters Diane Maher of Ankeny, Iowa, Cheri Miller and Dave Morgan of Ogden, Iowa and Kitty Scartozzi of Houston, Texas; 2 nephews Christian Maher and Brandon Dennis; and 2 nieces Alicia Maher and Vanessa Lopez. The body has been cremated. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday morning, October 30th at 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Boone with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Interment will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. | ||
