Brennan Bergman, 13, of 96 “N” Avenue, Stratford, Iowa, passed away on Friday afternoon, August 31, 2007, from injuries received in a pickup truck accident.

He was born December 20, 1993, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Shawn and Catherine (Schwering) Bergman.

Brennan was currently an 8th grade student at Webster City Middle School.

He was in the current confirmation class at the Stratford Lutheran Church. Brennan was a member of the Boy Scouts, Troop #511, and this past Thursday evening was awarded the Life Scout Award. For his Eagle Scout Project, he had decided to do restoration of old grave markers in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery. Brennan also enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.

Great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers preceded him in death.

Survivors include his parents, Shawn and Catherine Bergman of Stratford; grandparents, Dale and Louise Bergman of Stratford; grandparents, Gilbert and Peggy Schwering of Stratford; 1 great-grandmother, Audrey Olson of Stratford; aunts and uncles, Jan Bergman, Mark and Diana Erickson, Rick and April Carlson, all of Stratford; 5 cousins, and his faithful black lab, Jack.

Services will be held Wednesday morning, September 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church in Stratford, Iowa, with Pastor Joe Lambert officiating.

Interment will be in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery southwest of Stratford.

Friends may call at the Stratford Lutheran Church in Stratford on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.

The family will be present at the Stratford Lutheran Church on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. to greet friends.

Memorials may be left to the family for a memorial to be decided upon at a later date.
