| Howard Victor Constable, 92, formerly of 1104 – 8th Street, Boone, Iowa passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, Iowa on Wednesday evening, July 25, 2007. He had been a resident at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone since April of 2001.
He was born on April 18, 1915 in Turtle Lake, North Dakota the son of Frank and Louise (Johnson) Constable. On May 28, 1943 he married Elin Erickson of Kearney, Nebraska. Elin passed away on January 14, 1947. On June 24, 1948, he married Anna Rupp at St. James, Minnesota. Rev. Constable was a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Seminary in Chicago. He was ordained in 1949 at the Riverside Evangelical Free Church in Minneapolis, MN. The couple served the Evangelical Free Churches in Whipholt, Border and Detroit Lakes while living in Minnesota; Gaylord, Michigan; Newman Grove, Nebraska, and Marathon, Iowa. The couple retired to Boone in 1978. Since retiring and residing at the Eastern Star Masonic Home, he conducted a weekly Bible study group and chapel services at the Home. Rev. Constable was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and the Free Church Ministerial Association. His parents, first wife, Elin, second wife, Anna, 1 son, Wesley Constable, and 2 brothers, Merton and Vernon Constable preceded him in death. Survivors include 1 daughter, Karen Michalicek and her husband Lowell of Granite Bay, California, 1 son, Paul Constable and his wife Janice of St. Paul, Minnesota, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday morning, July 31st at 10:00 A.M. at the Eastern Star Masonic Home Chapel in Boone with Pastor Tim Trudeau officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southwest of Boone, Iowa. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Monday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning at the Eastern Star Masonic Home Chapel from 8:30 A.M. until time of service. The family will be present at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. to greet friends. Memorials may be given to Rachel Martin at Touchglobal EFCA. | ||
