| | | GLENDIVE, MONTANA: Kelly Lee Cremer Grow, 49, of Glendive, Montana passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Billings Clinic, after a bitter and unfair battle with cancer, in the loving embrace of her family.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glendive with Brother Guy Pontoriero officiating. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Kelly was born May 19, 1960, in Hardin, Montana, the middle daughter of P.T. (Spud) Cremer and Alta Roberts Cremer. Her childhood was spent on several cattle ranches between Wyola, Montana, and Sand Springs, Montana which molded the remainder of her life as a caretaker of living things. She started elementary school in Jordan, Montana, before moving back to Hardin to complete both elementary and high school, graduating in 1978. Kelly then moved to Fallon, Montana, with her adored second family, the Siegle's. This is how Kelly met and married her beloved husband of 28 years. She married Tracy Grow on October 3, 1981 in Glendive.
Kelly and Tracy went on to raise the entire light and joy of her life, her Marine sons Scott and Brett. Kelly was the proudest and most devoted mother—this was her chosen life work and favorite pastime. While raising her family, Kelly went on to complete her college education by attending Dawson Community College, Dickinson State University and the University of Montana where she obtained her degree in Biology. At the time of her passing she was working at the Glendive Medical Center as a purchasing agent. This was no easy feat, but Kelly approached everything with complete devotion, right mindedness and a positive outlook.
Kelly was a warrior her entire life—she had to be as nothing seemed to come very easily. Despite all her life's trials, she was the warmest, funniest, most generous and kindest soul to bless her family and all of humanity. To know Kelly was to love her. Her toughness only made her more endearing and made her pranks more funny and forgivable. Kelly was happiest with her kids and critters close by. Any living being had a place in her heart and her home.
Kelly was preceded in death by her mother Alta Cremer and her brother Kim Rhoads.
She is survived by her husband Tracy; sons, Scott and Brett; mother-in-law, Jean Grow all of Glendive; father, P.T. (Spud) Cremer of Roundup, Montana; four sisters, Maureen (Dale) Schaak of St. Xavier, Montana, Pat Cremer (Dave Morton) of Broadview, Montana, Jacque (Bob) Gregg and Kathy Cremer with Erika and John, step-mother, Margaret Cremer all of Jordan; niece Lisa Cremer with great-niece Amber of Billings; and nephew Justin (Spring) Schaak with great-niece Katie Rae of Billings.
The loss of Kelly is wide and deep, she now joins all her loved ones including her critters who have passed before her. Certainly she will leave a good trail and set the gates for the rest of us
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice or to the Relay for Life.
