Thomas C. "T.J." Adams, age 78, of Glendive, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Glendive Medical Center.
Private family visitation will be held in the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. No public services are planned at this time. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Tom was born on November 23, 1926 in Livingston, Montana, the son of Thomas and Florence (Vandolah) Adams. He was raised and educated in the Livingston and Clyde Park areas. Tom served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. In November of 1945, Tom married Rose Muscarella in Livingston and they were later divorced. Following his discharge, he returned to the Livingston area where he worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and also as a Livingston Police Officer. Tom married Alyce Leiva on January 19, 1959 in Livingston. They moved to Glendive in 1963 when Tom transferred there with the railroad. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad on November 23, 1987.
Tom enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Glendive Elks Lodge #1324 and the National Rifle Association.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Boyce Washington Adams and his grandson, Jeremy Nimmick.
Survivors include his wife, Alyce, of Glendive; his daughters, Gwen Nimmick and her husband Bob of Three Forks, Montana, Susan Colbrese of Glendive and Robin Adams of Williston, North Dakota; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
