JO ANN KRAUSZER, resident of Bentwater, Montgomery, Texas passed away June 26, 2009 after a long battle with the complications of Polycystic Kidney Disease. She was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on June 17, 1946 to Samuel Jonelunas and Dora A. Calvo. She was raised in Edison, New Jersey, attending Edison High School and then St Francis Nursing School in Trenton, New Jersey. In 1968, she married Steve Krauszer and practiced pediatric nursing in suburban Philadelphia. After overseas assignments in Denmark and Okinawa, they moved to Houston where Jo Ann practiced allergy nursing and raised a family of two. During that time she established several life-long friends. In 1999, she and Steve retired to Montgomery and joined St Mary's Church in Plantersville, adding to her long list of friends. She battled the complications of Polycystic Kidney Disease tirelessly and her tenacity became an inspiration to others. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her father Samuel Jonelunas. She is survived by her mother, Dora Jonelunas of Montgomery, father-in-law Nick Krauszer of Franklin Park, N.J., husband Steve Krauszer of Montgomery, son Scott of Billings, Montana, son Steven and wife Dondi of West University, brother Wayne and wife Maureen Jonelunas, sister-in-law Kathy Krauszer of Princeton, N.J. and nieces Colleen and Samantha Jonelunas and Chris Pazur of Freehold, N.J., nephew Wayne and wife Michelle Jonelunas of Pasadena. A visitation and rosary service will be held at Sam Houston Funeral Home, 850 Eva Street, in Montgomery, on Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr Ed Kucera at St Mary's Church in Plantersville at 10:30am on Wednesday July 1, 2009. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the PKD Foundation (9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 400, Kansas City, MO 64114-3367 or www.pkdcure.org) in the name of Jo Ann Krauszer. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of St Luke's Medical Center The Woodlands for excellent care over the last three years.
