this is a sad day.i did not hear about melvin until today,we actuall grew up around each other on 6th street in lanxaster.we then played football together.i miss all the times melvinmrichard,and me played baseball together.we also was always stopping at your dad's store.melvin was one of the nicest people in our school.this really stunned me.i wish i coulf have seen melvin before this happened.richard please drop me a line.i am just in arlington.god bless you all | From: bobby holley 11/09/2011 08:11 AM

We are so sorry to hear of Melvin's passing. Jay has many special memories of Melvin while working with him at the Dallas Morning News. Melvin always talked about Hunter and he was very proud of his son. Our prayers and condolences.

Karen and Hunter sorry for your loss of Melvin. I worked with Melvin in the Police Department and had been around him for years. We played numerous league baseball games together, fished and socialized a lot. Melvin was quite a character and will be missed but he leaves his accomplishments for all that knew him. Dear London Family, I joined the Lions Club when Mel was president. He is someone that inspired me and was always a pleasure to be around and even when we were working events he would always show up to lend a hand.
