As with Eric I am just learning about your loss. Our deepest sympathy to your families. Scott and I were roommates in Panama and good friends. He was my dive buddy when we were certified to scuba dive. Luckily Scott was deployed to Ecuador with me and it was awesome having my friend there with me in the jungle for 6 months. We managed to put the whole camp on alert with an MRE bomb which was not the smartest thing we've ever done. He was a good friend and I missed him when we parted ways in Panama. I am truly sorry to hear about his passing and pray that you find comfort in knowing he had so many people that cared for him.

Scott was a friend of mine in the Army: We were in Satcom training in Georgia and served in Panama together as well. I'd not heard from him in a long time, and decided to look up him. I'm so sorry to hear that he is no longer with us. He was a good friend and outstanding solider.

I only found out a few weeks ago about Scott's passing. Scott and I were very good friends growing up. Me, Scott and his cousin Eric spent many summers riding around in my jeep. He was a good guy and I will miss him. I found out about Scott and his grandfather at the same time, so I mourn them both. I have been in Atlanta for the past few years and have lost touch with so many friends. Scott was a good person and a good friend. I hope you find comfort in knowing that he always loved his family. Scott will always be in the hearts of those that loved him. God Bless

I was very sadned when this news reached me as Scott and I had worked together a while back at NTC. Scott was a good technician and a great person! Always willing to give the extra time to help others and be there if needed, he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Larry and I always had a great time with Scott and Vanessa. I will miss his smiling face. I know how much Patrick loved him. My prayers are with the whole family and all of his friends.

To the Porter and Rust Family: Scott and I were dear friends growing up and some of my fondest memories from middle school through college were spent with Scott. We worked at the beach during the summers at Key Sailing and had multiple jobs working together during that time. I lost touch with Scott in 2000 and miss him dearly. I pray for your comfort during this difficult time and will continue to pray for your family especially Vanessa and their daughter. Please contact me at 239.470.6310 as I would like to do something for the family. Respectfully, Chris A. Heidt

I met Scott in March when I started working for Caprock. Scott and I immediately became very good friends, if not best friends. I feel priveleged to have known him. He will be sorely missed. I think I will miss his witty comments and raw humor the most. He always knew how to make me laugh. He will never be forgotten. My family sends our deepest sympathy and prayers to your family during this time.
