Kelly Ann Cohoon, 44, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her parents' home. She was born in Russellville September 6, 1964. Her parents are Richard Roy and Mary Elizabeth Cohoon.
Kelly graduated from Russellville High School, Class of 1982, and earned a BA in Liberal Arts, majoring in speech, at Arkansas Tech University in 1986. She loved theater, music, and writing, maintaining correspondence with many pen-pals all over the world. Kelly was a fan of science fiction literature, movies and television.
She was employed at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle and recently completed a professional training course in Dietary Management. Previously Kelly worked in childcare facilities and as a homecare aide for the elderly. Her love of young children also led her to serve as a nursery assistant at Central Presbyterian Church where she was a long-time member.
Kelly is survived by her father and mother, Richard and Mary Cohoon, her sister Lisa Cochran, Lisa’s children Haley Perks, and Joshua Perks, all of Russellville, and an uncle and aunt William and Joy Wright of Orlando, Florida.
Kelly’s funeral will be held at 10:00 AM at Central Presbyterian Church, 400 West Main, Russellville, with the Rev. Dave Schneider and Rev. Don Erwin officiating. A reception in the church’s fellowship hall will follow the service. There will be a private burial at Oakland Cemetery at afternoon. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
The visitation room will be open from 5 to 9 P.M. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
